When life imitates business...

Hello Reader,

For anyone who knows me personally or has followed me for even a little while, you know I talk openly about grief.

Grief is a constant of life that I truly believe we need to learn to live with and when we make peace with it being threaded through our day-to-day, our lives are so much better for it.

On Monday the 19th, I will air a solo podcast episode about how to be productive while grieving. And I have had to take this very advice to heart for the past month. Our family has suffered another devastating loss on top of one we had the same time last year. I don’t want to go into specifics because I know grief details can be triggering. But it’s been a blow to our family and the ripple effect has been significant. As I send this, I have a suitcase packed to take our family across the country to be part of a celebration of life I didn't think I would be attending and I’m doing my best to be “ready” for it. But are we ever?

It’s such strange timing that I had dedicated this month to grief and change as a topic focus, but perhaps it’s beautiful timing too. If you are in a similar situation to me, my heart goes out to you.

As a way to offer support, I have multiple episodes on the podcast about grief that you may want to check out. Or if you know someone grieving and they are ready to listen in on supportive conversations surrounding this topic, please do share them. To make it easy, I’ve created a grief + trauma playlist on the PODCAST page of the website. The latest episodes include one about how to support others going through tough times and how to rebuild your life while grieving. Earlier episodes involve defining and living with grief and decluttering to release it. (Decluttering can be an incredibly effective way to process grief.)

As you navigate the path of life with grief entwined, I hope each hard moment brings a healing moment with it and that you keep finding light.

Warmly,

Lisa

Reader As a productivity coach and caregiver, I've learned a secret to unlocking your full potential that is easy to overlook: addressing the unseen impacts of trauma. Too often, we approach getting things done as a one-size-fits-all solution, failing to recognize how our past experiences shape our present-day challenges. But what if the real game-changer is adopting a trauma-informed mindset? The reality is trauma manifests in countless ways, from difficulty concentrating to physical...

Reader As a fellow multi-passionate creative and caregiver, I know how overwhelming it can feel to tackle big events, projects, or life goals. The to-do lists, the deadlines, the constant juggling is…well...a LOT. The answer, as you likely already know, is planning. But this is where most of us get stuck. We sit down and start creating a todo list and the overwhelm kicks in. It’s not just about what needs to be done, it’s about when it needs to be done (as well as by whom). And that’s not...

Reader Yes, I’m a Harry Potter fan from ages ago and I can’t help but reference it. I recall watching the movies and thinking a Remembrall could really come in handy some days. But one problem: it only reminded you that you forgot something, not what you forgot! How do you keep from forgetting stuff? Especially when the mental load of caregiving and all the creative ideas fill your brain and keep you from functioning at your best? The solution is simpler than you might think. It's all about...
